Quality & Product Compliance

Quality checked where it is made.

NewGen combines local quality-control coverage, approved samples, compliance testing, incoming inspection and practical wear evaluation to reduce the risk of defects, inconsistencies and delays reaching your uniform program.

Problems identified earlier Issues can be found and corrected at the supplier location before goods are shipped.
More consistent repeat orders Production is checked against approved samples, specifications and prior program requirements.
Lower rollout risk Additional controls reduce the likelihood of defects reaching staff or interrupting distribution.
Traceable compliance Relevant approvals, production references and compliance evidence are retained for the life of the program.

What this means for your organisation

Quality control matters only if it reduces risk for your people and your program.

Consistent repeat supply

Repeat orders are checked against the approved garment, specification and program requirements.

Accurate branding

Logo placement, colour and application are checked during production and again where required on arrival.

Fewer defects reaching staff

Quality issues can be identified before shipment, reducing avoidable replacements and disruption.

Verified product claims

Relevant reports and certifications are reviewed before a technical or compliance claim is relied upon.

Faster investigation

Production dates, purchase orders and supplier records help identify the source of an issue quickly.

Supplier accountability

Defects are investigated, corrective action is required and repeat issues affect supplier status.

Quality-control coverage at every supplier location

NewGen maintains quality-control coverage wherever our products are made.

Where production volume is ongoing, dedicated QC personnel oversee the work. Where demand is less frequent, NewGen engages an independent local quality consultant.

This gives NewGen a local person who can inspect production, investigate concerns and report directly before a problem becomes a shipment.

  • Workmanship and garment construction
  • Fabric and colour
  • Branding placement and finish
  • Consistency with approved samples
  • Measurements and labels where relevant
  • Packing and order requirements

Controls across the full production process

Quality is managed before, during and after production.

1

Before production

Specifications, samples, branding, labelling and relevant compliance evidence are reviewed before bulk production.

2

During production

Local QC personnel check workmanship, fabric, colour, branding and consistency with the approved standard.

3

Before release

Incoming goods are checked for quantity, visible defects and selected products undergo more detailed inspection.

4

During the program

Defects, complaints and repeat supplier issues are recorded, investigated and used in supplier reviews.

We test for use, not only approval

A garment can meet its measurements and still be awkward or impractical in everyday use.

NewGen adds a practical human layer to its quality process by asking team members to wear and wash suitable unbranded samples.

This helps us assess how a garment actually performs in normal use, including comfort, movement, fit, wash behaviour, shape retention and ease of putting the garment on or taking it off.

These evaluations may continue after a garment has entered an established range. Where an issue is found, NewGen reviews the garment’s measurements, construction and intended use with the supplier.

A garment can be within specification and still not perform well for the person wearing it. Practical wear evaluation provides an additional safeguard beyond technical approval.
Only suitable unbranded samples are used for internal wear evaluation. Customer-branded garments are not used for this purpose. Practical wear testing complements formal compliance testing; it does not replace it.

Product compliance

Where a garment carries a technical or performance requirement, NewGen retains relevant evidence.

  • Applicable AS or AS/NZS requirements
  • High-visibility compliance
  • OEKO-TEX certification
  • UPF testing
  • Flammability requirements
  • Antistatic properties
  • Colourfastness and shrinkage
  • Wash performance and tear strength
  • Fibre, care and country-of-origin labelling
  • Restricted substances and chemical safety
Not every requirement applies to every product. Controls are determined according to the garment, intended use, wearer and work environment.

Traceability and issue resolution

When an issue occurs, NewGen manages the investigation directly.

Overseas-manufactured products are linked to production dates, purchase orders and supporting records. This allows NewGen to trace affected goods to the relevant supplier, factory and production run.

If a material issue is reported, NewGen may inspect related stock, obtain factory input, review production records and arrange laboratory testing where necessary.

  • Affected goods may be held or isolated.
  • Replacement, rework or other corrective action may be arranged.
  • Repeat defects are considered in supplier reviews.
  • Serious failures may result in supplier suspension or termination.

Documented assurance for tenders and ongoing programs

NewGen retains approved samples, specifications, relevant test reports, inspection records and complaint history for the life of the product or program. This provides a documented basis for consistency, traceability and compliance.
